Week of January 6: New Beginnings

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

2 Corinthians 5:17

Welcome back to school! For some of you, this could be your last semester. Others it could only be semester number two. And probably quite a few of you, like myself, are in the middle of college. No matter where you are at in college a new semester means a new start. New classes. New books. New routines to get into. New goals. Maybe a new living space. And best of all a new GPA (shooting for the 4.0 this semester)! It is a fresh start in so many ways and in very different ways for all of us!  We are all promised another new beginning not only for this semester but for our life. The promise of a new beginning through Jesus Christ. When we put our full faith in Jesus Christ, God is wiping the slate clean. No matter our sins, we are able to become new. It is a second chance for us to find love, a home, and most of all, eternal life. Throughout this weekly devotion this semester, we will be renewing and building our faith with God through scripture, brief writing, and a song! Best of luck with the first week of classes this semester!

Challenge:

This week, identify some new opportunities God has presented you and share with a close friend telling them how God is working in your life.
